ClearAccess recognizes that today’s broadband deployments lack capabilities
which service providers need in order to operate efficiently and
become more profitable.
In response to these needs, the ClearVision Management System offers
service providers the ability to automatically activate and configure
subscribers, manage customer premise equipment (CPE) and deliver
advanced services by way of service packages over DSL, fiber, cable, T1/E1,
wireless and satellite networks.
Advanced Service Packages include services such as Managed WiFi,
Content Filtering, Internet Time Blocking, Remote Port Forwarding and IPTV.
When used in conjunction with ClearAccess gateways or other TR069
compliant gateways, ClearVision enables service providers to significantly
improve operational efficiency while enabling a new revenue stream
through advanced service delivery.

Connect and Surf™

Thanks to ClearVision’s Connect and Surf™ feature, customers are no longer required to install burdensome
setup tools from a CD or evaluate overly technical menus to properly configure their gateway. Additionally,
service providers will no longer require staff to preprovision CPEs prior to shipping. Connect and Surf™ accelerates
broadband CPE deployment and results in fewer support calls, fewer truck rolls and reduced churn.

ClearVision provides a detailed view of items such as the subscriber’s contact information, gateway details,
activation status and service package selection (see Figure 1). When the customer powers on the gateway a
secure connection is established with the associated ClearVision server. The gateway’s configuration is then
automatically updated and the subscriber’s service becomes active.
Remote Software and Firmware Management

All gateway software, including firmware, can be remotely upgraded by Clear-
Vision, without user intervention, in a bulk or per gateway basis.
Gateway Details and Status

ClearVision enables service providers to see deep into the access network
and observe, among other things, a managed gateway’s LAN and WAN statistics,
connection speed, MAC address, model number, firmware version, WAN
IP address, subscription details and event log infomation. Service providers
also have the ability to quickly see the status of gateways in the network and
proactively discover issues before the customer does.
Advanced Service Packages
Manage the Subscribers Home or Office Network

Understanding what devices are connected to the subscriber’s LAN enables service providers to offer richer
support and better positioning of service packages. ClearVision displays the name, mac address, IP address,
connection status (e.g. connected or disconnected) and connection type (i.e. wireless or wired) for each device
connected to the subscriber’s gateway.

The Control Panel interface within ClearVision gives service providers the ability to remotely manage the
subscriber’s firewall. In addition, by leveraging ClearVision’s UDMTM (Universal Device ManagementTM) feature,
any device on the LAN that has a web interface can be remotely managed.
Help Desk and System Administration Interfaces

ClearVision offers support personnel configurable web-based help desk and system administration interfaces
aligned with the needs of the service provider. All web-based support interfaces are secured using SSL certificates.
Users can be authenticated with certificates or prompted for user name and password credentials.
